Learning that plays back

Five educational game concepts I designed to turn human anatomy and physiology into interactive, standards-aligned learning — the practice behind the theory in my doctoral study.

Design rationale

Why games, and why these five

Systems, not facts

Anatomy is taught as lists to memorize. Each of these games teaches a body system as a system — inputs, feedback, and consequences the learner can feel through play.

Assessment built in

Every design includes pop-up explanations, unlockable visualizations, and quiz checkpoints, so learning is measured continuously rather than only at the end.

Designed for classrooms

Co-op and competitive modes give instructors ready-made group structures, turning a solo game into a collaborative learning activity.
